Droopy is an Eastern Screech Owl that was brought to us as a young bird in the late spring of 2012. He had sustained a wing injury from being hit by a car after fledging from his nest. Due to the type of injury he received he could not be released. While he could fly, his wing hindered his ability to hunt silently. Droopy now serves double duty with the Birds of Prey Foundation. He is not only an educational ambassador but also a foster parent during baby season. Since he has a droopy wing as a result of his injury, he is lovingly called “Droopy”.
